4 Easy Latte Art Tips for Beginners
You think you've mastered the art of making coffee drinks? Think again!
If making a latte is all you know about coffee preparation, then there's a lot you can learn about latte art.
Latte art is a great way to show off your creative side and impress friends, family, and coworkers with your skills. It’s also a great way to use up some leftover espresso beans or grinds.
But if you've just started drinking lattes and are afraid of making any messes, don't fret!
We'll give you some easy-to-follow tips to help you make your latte art with espresso roast:
Step 1: Brew The Right Flavor
Espresso is the base flavor in most lattes, so it's important to use the right roast. The key is to find one with a deep and rich flavor and a subtle bitterness undertone.
Step 2: Add Your Milk
The milk you use to make lattes is a key component. The right kind of milk can make or break your latte art. You want a creamy, rich, and smooth consistency for your latte art masterpiece.
The best kind of milk for lattes is whole milk because it's higher in fat content than skim or low-fat varieties. If you're using soy, almond, or coconut milk, you'll want to add a little more than if you were using dairy milk.
You should also consider how much sugar you want in your latte.
Then, start with a clean cup. Dunk your espresso into the milk before stirring in any extras as desired.
Step 3: Stir in Any Other Ingredients
You can add other ingredients to the latte art mix before pouring it into your cup. For example, if you want chocolate drizzle on top of your latte, add some melted chocolate and stir it with a spoon.
If you want whipped cream, add some and stir it in with a spoon. If you want strawberry syrup or fruit purée, add them and stir them in.
Make sure that the fruit or other ingredients are cold by putting them in the blast freezer for 10-15 minutes before adding them to your latte art mix.
Step 4: The Final Touch
Now, take a spoon and add a little bit of foam on top of your latte. You can use a foam ring if you want to make things easier (and prettier).
Next, take another spoonful of milk and swirl it around in your cup until it's all mixed up with the foam.
Now, take another spoonful of milk and pour it into the center of your swirl. Carefully move the spoon around so that the milk swirls around in different directions.
Once you've finished working with your latte art tool, rinse any extra milk from the sides of your cup or mug before serving!
